Heartbreaker is the ‘stop-gap’ album that came to define a career. Released 25 years ago in September, Adams himself described it as, an amazing stroll down the back alley of my soul with some fine company.

Sparse, direct, and emotionally unguarded, the album has since become a benchmark in alternative country and early 2000s singer-songwriter records.
