This 90-track 4-CD comprises the complete original content of seven of those albums from the later 1950s – “Sarah Vaughan”, “In The Land Of Hi-Fi”, “Sassy”, “Swingin Easy”, “In A Romantic Mood”, “No Count Sarah” and the double-LP “Sarah Vaughan Sings Broadway: Great Songs from Hit Shows”. It sees her working with a range of accompaniments, from her own jazz trio, and the great jazz octet of Clifford Brown, through the Count Basie Band (minus Count Basie), and the orchestras of Ernie Wilkins, featuring Cannonball Adderley, and Hal Mooney. Its a marvellous showcase for her unique way with a song, and a substantial collection featuring one of the finest singers of the time performing some of the finest songs.
