One night during the tour at Cafe Oto in London, something clicked. Our live sets started gravitating towards rhythm and hooks. It was clear that the trio – myself, Jim and Jeff – were onto something. And then we met Tara. She and I played together at an improvised music night and, for about 45 seconds during one of the pieces, a new path became clear. So Tara joined the band. The new line-up felt alive and direct.
